Nach-Yo Ordinary Tequila Tasting

Texans love their heritage – one that's built on pride, strength, and tradition. Even if you weren't born in the Lone Star State, you got here as soon as possible. Much of that heritage is shared with our neighbors south of the border, fostering shared traditions and passions for delicacies such as fine tequila and agave. With an abundance of quality sipping tequila available in our region, what better way to enjoy it than to pair it with authentic gourmet Tex-Mex nachos?

At the Nach-Yo Ordinary Tequila Tasting, industry experts will be on hand to guide and educate attendees about all things tequila. Tickets are $45 per person and include gourmet individual single serve nachos, live music and tequila/mezcal tastings served both neat and batched. Sip and savor.

All Tom Nall ever wanted to be was a cowboy. Along the way, he spent over three decades building the now legendary brand Wick Fowler’s Two Alarm Chili Kits, which are sold nationwide. He retired from the chili business on a Friday in 2009 and by Monday had started a new venture. Tom and his partners set out to create a tequila that would represent the spirit of Texas, and that folks all over would be proud to drink and serve. Tom’s dedication to all things Texan and experience as a cowboy cook gave him the know how to create Republic Tequila, a product that honors the traditions and taste buds of generations of Texans. In 2017, Tom pioneered a new spirit- Republic Whiskey, a bourbon blend as bold and storied as Texas itself.

Executive Chef De La Cruz was overseeing the culinary department at The Club at Cimarron in Mission TX since 2007 a ClubCorp Club before coming to The Woodlands Country Club, The Palmer Course. Chef De La Cruz has been with the ClubCorp Family for 9 years.

His style of cuisine is a Mixology of world cuisines and “Blending Flavors”. With years of culinary experience, Chef De La Cruz served as chef for the Woodlands Resort in the Houston area of Texas, Aberdeen Woods Conference Center in Atlanta, Georgia, Lajitas Golf Resort and Spa,“The Ultimate Hideout”, in West Texas, and various prestigious Country Clubs in San Antonio. He attended culinary school along with an apprenticeship program with the Texas Chefs Association (TCA) and the nationally accredited American Culinary Federation (ACF).

Chef De La Cruz will be serving individual gourmet nachos for Nach-Yo Ordinary Tequila Tasting.

Kevin Mason is the Owner and Executive Chef of Mason’s Creative Catering. He was born and raised in Houston and lived in New Orleans for ten years working with other talented chefs to bring the big bold Texas style cooking to New Orleans flavor and spice. He customizes menus for every client because he believes each item on a menu should reflect the clients style, embody the purpose for the gathering, and excite guests
