While attending culinary school at Delgado community college (2000-2003) Travis Cabler (30) worked as a apprentice under chef Marvin Tweedy and Executive chef Kim Kringlie at the Dakota restaurant. After graduating in 2005 Cabler became a veteran of the north shore restaurant scene by working in some of the area's best kitchens. Cabler also has served as executive chef at the charming and eclectic Etoile in downtown Covington, La. before it's closure in 2008.
Cabler currently is executive chef of Friend's Coastal restaurant in Madisonville, La., known for a fresh, fun menu centered around the theme" Key West meets New Orleans" and for it's great series of decks overlooking the scenic Tchefuncte river.Cabler and his wife Brooke became parents of a new baby, Riley Elizabeth, in October 2009. This is Cabler's 2nd year attending this food and wine experience.
