Soren Pedersen
Executive Chef, Ray's Grill
A Danish native born and raised in Odense Denmark Chef Soren Pedersen began his culinary career at the early age of fourteen in the old style tradition apprenticeship. After completing his journeyman ship and working in Europe for some years, Chef Pedersen was curious to move abroad.
In 1994, Chef Soren Pedersen arrived in Houston, Texas. Houston provided a world of opportunity for the aspiring chef. Chef Pedersen was in fine dining catering, opening restaurants and an Executive Chef with Club Corp. America. Chef Pedersen always remained true, to continue to perfect his technique of "fusion" cooking, a concept of old tradition with a modern twist.
In the late nineties Chef Soren Pedersen moved to Seattle, Washington to run a ninety seat restaurant in the downtown area, using a blackboard menu concept. Seattle was an enticing experience, but the chef missed Texas immensely. At the millennium, Chef Soren Pedersen moved back to Texas as an Executive Chef for a member owned country club with honorary members like President George W. Bush.
Chef Soren Pedersen was also the Executive Chef for Sweetwater Country Club, appeared on Houston's TV show "Great Day Houston" and is now the proud Executive Chef and partner for Ray's Grill in Fulshear, TX., Sorrel Urban Bistro in Houston, TX., and the driving force behind Watercress Catering.
