Wine and Food Week 2008 Welcomes Silvina Barros
Trivento Winery

Silvina BarrosSilvina Barros, Trivento Winery

Silvina Barros, Fine Wine Specialist for Argentina's acclaimed TRIVENTO winery, is an articulate and engaging ambassador for this top-rated wine producer. As such, much of Silvina's time is dedicated to traveling around the U.S., implementing educational programs for TRIVENTO wholesalers, as well as key on-premise and off-premise accounts. Her presentations focus on TRIVENTO's portfolio of fine varietal wines from Argentina's Mendoza region, in addition to promoting her native Argentina as one of the world's leading wine producers.

Silvina began her career in TRIVENTO in 2002, starting in the marketing department. She swiftly became involved in helping develop TRIVENTO's growing array of overseas markets, necessitating frequent trips to Europe. Back in Mendoza, her ability to communicate, fluency in English, and thorough knowledge of the Argentinean wine industry made her a natural candidate for the task of welcoming visiting journalists, buyers and special guests at the winery.

Each harvest Silvina participates with TRIVENTO's winemaking team in the final selection of wine blends that will go into the finished product. As part of the winemaking process she also visits the vineyards with TRIVENTO's winemakers shortly before harvest, to ascertain that the grapes have reached optimal levels of ripeness prior to picking. As a result, Silvina plays an integral role in the development of the wines she represents.

TRIVENTO Bodegas y Viñedos markets its wines from Mendoza in over 100 countries. The winery, which takes its name from the three winds in the region -- Polar, Zonda and Sudestada -- embraces over 1,000 hectares (almost 2,500 acres) of vineyards. The Mendoza region's typically dry climate and perfect balance between warm days and cool nights throughout the all-important growing season, provide a perfect environment for producing top quality grapes and, by definition, some of the world's most desirable wines.
