Sharon Fenchak
Winemaker, Biltmore Estate Winery
Sharon Fenchak joined the Biltmore team in 1999 to assist Winemaker Bernard Delille in the wine making process. She was promoted to Winemaker in 2003. In addition to crafting wine for Biltmore, Fenchak is involved with in-house research and development to help Biltmore lead the way in employing new grape-growing technology and testing grape-production methods.
Prior to joining Biltmore, Fenchak was Winemaker at Chestnut Mountain Winery in Braselton, GA, where she oversaw the wine development process. Prior to that, she was employed as Assistant Winemaker at Habersham Winery in Baldwin, GA. She holds a master's degree in food science from the University of Georgia and a bachelor's degree in food science from Penn State University. Fenchak has served in both the United States Army as Communications Specialist, and in the United States Army Reserve.
Today Delille and Fenchak bring together the art and science of winemaking. Though they bring distinctly different perspectives, they share a common approach to winemaking as they create high quality wines that are true to varietal character as well as food friendly and a great value. As Biltmore Wines continue to grow, Fenchak hopes to continue building the tradition of the Biltmore brand among wine enthusiasts in locally, nationally, and globally.
