Director, Allan Scott Winemakers

Coming from a Canterbury farming family, Allan's first contact with the wine industry came in 1973 as an employee of a major wine company, assisting with the original vine plantings in Marlborough. After several years managing a major vineyard, he resigned to head a national viticultural team for another of the major players. In this role, Allan developed an interest in the winemaking process as well. This interest eventually led to the establishment of Allan Scott Wines and Estates Ltd.

An associated business of contract grape growing and a busy viticultural consultancy were the early background to the company, with Allan being instrumental in the development of many of the region's vineyards along with localized vineyard husbandry techniques. Allan's key role as Director of the company is to manage production and marketing aspects along with the coordination of all facets of the business.
