Daniel Miranda

Mexican Chef Daniel Miranda is no stranger to rave reviews in both Mexico and the U.S. He’s the 2010 title winner of “Prime Gourmet: El Reto,” a program focused on haute cuisine where two chefs face off in a culinary battle; Mexico’s equivalent to “Iron Chef America.” This distinguished chef is experienced in every single position in the kitchen and he has worked in a variety of restaurant settings, which have allowed him to adapt his techniques, fine-tune his skills, and build his repertoire. In May 2011, Iron Chef Miranda completed the inaugural Memorial Hermann Iron Man Texas competition held in The Woodlands, Texas.

Miranda’s ambition to become a chef had always been life-long. He received his start as a kitchen helper in Toluca in 1996. A year later he studied and trained at the French Culinary Institute in New York City. Post graduation, Chef Miranda worked in New York City at the Grand Havana Room and Spartina, where he was in charge of chilled foods. In 2000, Chef Daniel returned to Mexico to serve as the sous chef for the John Gray Restaurant Group in Cancun. Two years later he was the chef at Barraca Orraca in Mexico City. Chef Miranda joined AM Restaurants, Inc. in 2007 to work at Lucca Ristorante and Piegari, which specializes in Italian and Argentinean fusion.

Chef Miranda now combines his training and experience to create traditional dishes with a contemporary touch for Luca & Leonardo Ristorante and La Lupita Mexican Cuisine & Bar. He personally designed both menus to showcase an authentic and fresh representation of Mexican and Italian cuisine.
