In the ‘50s and ‘60s, Dr. Konstantin Frank ignited the “Vinifera Revolution” a movement that forever changed the course of wine growing in the Finger Lakes and the United States. Dr. Frank’s vision, knowledge and determination are credited with elevating the New York wine industry from a state of mediocrity to a level that today commands world attention. Dr. Frank’s won an astounding 67 gold medals from around the country in 2009 alone, and has been named top winery in the northeast for the last five years in a row by “The Wine Report”. And Hugh Johnson gave the winery his highest possible score (4 stars) in his 2009 “Pocket Wine Book”.
